Obituaries » Suzanne E. Thomas January 2, 2023 Suzanne E. Thomas January 2, 2023 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Suzanne Thomas, Wilkes-Barre, on January 2, 2023. Born Suzanne Elizabeth Scavone on January 24, 1966 to Edward and Elizabeth Scavone, Hanover Township, she was a 1983 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and attended King’s College. Her working years were spent alongside her family at Sucali’s Tavern in Wilkes-Barre, then later at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Sue made friends everywhere she went, and we hope that everyone remembers her with a smile and a fond memory of time spent with her. To everyone who came to show their support at her benefit, we thank you. In her passing, she is once again joined with her parents and her beloved dog Reggie, who walked up to her one day as a stray and never left her side. Suzanne is survived by her husband, Paul J. Thomas, Wilkes-Barre, her sisters, Carolyn Flannery and husband Thomas, Mountain Top, Lisa Foote and husband Robert, Mountain Top, and her beloved godparents, John and Elizabeth Strasburger. Also surviving her are sisters-in-law; Barbara Deininger, Lorraine Reimard, Ellen Redenski, and brother-in-law Robert S. Thomas. She will be greatly missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and all of her dear friends. In lieu of flowers, or for anyone wishing to make a donation in Sue’s memory, please think of a local animal rescue. She would love that in honor of her Reggie. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 am in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Entombment will be in Mary Mother of God Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township.
