Teresa (Stoiber) Brown

Teresa (Stoiber) Brown, 89, of Shavertown, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

 

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Alois and Christina Auer Stoiber.  Teresa was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School in Wilkes-Barre.  She formerly co-owned Ron’s Floral Shop in Plains.

 

Teresa was a member of St. Therese’s Church in Shavertown and she was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, its Bread Baking Ministry and the Prayer Ministry. Teresa was also a member of the Shavertown Fire Company’s Ladies Auxiliary.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Brown in 1989 and by her sisters, Bertha Stoiber, Christine Connors and Anna Stoiber and by her brothers, Louis and Henry Stoiber and by her sister-in-law, Ada Stoiber.

 

Teresa is survived by her daughter, Teresa L. Brown, Dallas; son, E.J. Brown and his wife, Rita, Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Joshua Brody, Reyburn and Janine Brody, Shavertown.

 

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Therese’s Church in Shavertown. Her Pastor, Rev. James J. Paisley, will officiate.  Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Teresa’s name to the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Therese’s Church, 64 Davis Street, Shavertown, PA 18708, or to Mercy Center, PO Box 370, Dallas, PA 18612.
