To the Lavan Family . So sorry to hear of Mr.Lavan's passing. I worked with Tom at SCID FROM 1996 TO TO 2003. I always thought of Tom as a friend rather than coworker. He always had a ready smile of welcome on Monday morning when we talked [or rather he would talk] and I would listen about Penn ST. football! Tom never forgot where he came from.. He was proud of his family and loved his community. We each had our first Grandchild at the same time. He was so very happy for his family on that great day. God bless your family and Tom's memory .. Marilyn and Tom, Jr., our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Tommy was truly one of the nicest men we’ve ever known. Timmy remembers him as his Braves baseball coach in St. Joseph’s Youth League. Lots of good memories. .

Mr. Lavan, as I knew him, was my Little League baseball coach who led us (Braves) to a championship. While in Jr High school, many times, he took his son Tom and me to various high school and college wrestling matches. I have nothing but great memories of this good and decent man. Sincere condolences to Mr. Lavan's family and friends.

I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Supt. Lavan. I worked with Thomas, Charlie, and Billy at Dallas and Retreat. I can remember many good times we had. Thomas was a true professional and taught me a lot during the time we worked together. He will be missed by many from the Corrections community. May he Rest In Peace. Major Kurt Girmen
